Mt. Vernon Rams:
Basketball at Centralia

The Mt. Vernon Rams ended their regular season with a road trip to Centralia. With a possible regional championship matchup looming in a week, the two teams battled without revealing too much. Centralia led most of the way and used flex and four corners to pull away for a 52-38 win.


Mt. Vernon Lady Rams:
Basketball at Olney

Mt. Vernon Lady Rams Basketball opened up the 2015 Postseason at the Olney Regional against the host East Richland Lady Tigers. The Lady Rams were off to a hot start for the first 15 minutes but unfortunately that start cooled in the second half as the Lady Tigers ended with a 52-48 win.


WMIX Sports Basketball Showcase (Boys):
Woodlawn vs. Sesser-Valier

For the second time in as many years the Sesser-Valier Red Devils and Woodlawn Cardinals met in the regional championship. This time the Woodlawn Cardinals hoped to be the victor and reclaim their familiar role in the sectional. Nick Marlo had other ideas, scoring 15 points in the first quarter for SV as the Red Devils rolled to the regional crown.


WMIX Sports Basketball Showcase (Girls):
Wayne City vs. Galatia

For a third season in a row, a 1A Regional Championship would culminate with Wayne City and Galatia-Thompsonville tangling for the title. It was G-T in 2013 and Wayne City in '14. Wayne City controlled most of the game, but the Lady Cats pulled away in the fourth for their second regional in three seasons.

Special Olympics Basketball

The Mt. Vernon Rams and Mt. Vernon Mavericks squared off in the FIRST ANNUAL Fill the Stands for Special Olympics night at Changnon Gymnasium. Both teams put their best offense on display in this fast-paced challenge. What an atmosphere with a great crowd, cheerleaders, Rockin' Rams, MV Drumline, MV Pep Band, and more!
